Seethawaka EPZ, Matara, Monaragala, Trincomalee, and Mannar. Scope
The person will be assisting the Manager-Legal to oversee the legal operations of the Company.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all forms of commercial agreements.
- Conduct research, prepare legal opinions, and maintain legal and regulatory trackers up to date.
- Conduct title searches at the Land Registries, examine titles and attend to conveyancing work.
- Collaborate with HR on employee-related legal matters.
- Assist the Manager-Legal in managing litigation and other legal disputes and ensure up-to-date record maintenance in relation to litigation matters.
- Maintain and ensure overall record keeping of the Legal Department.
- Assist the Manager-Legal in daily operations and handle day-to-day administrative functions of the Legal Department.
Requirements
- Attorney-at-Law with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualifying experience (preferably in the apparel, textile, or retail industry or at a reputed law firm).
- Should possess the notary license to practice in the English language in Colombo.
- Strong understanding of legal matters related to corporate compliance, contracts, intellectual property rights, labor laws, and import/export regulations.
- Familiarity with local, regional, and international trade regulations applicable to the apparel industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and must be able to work under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
